Soon we will be having a lot of games against the AL West. We have done well against the Astros so I hope we turn things around against the rest of the West much like we have started turning things around at home.

Good to see a game start to finish. Tolle pretty hyped to get the call. He has been a workhorse. Astros beat Twins so good for WC not so good for division. More relief help Sept 1.

Didn't lose ground on the division, so that in itself is a plus. Gained on Twins and Angels in WC race

Just heard that a fan fell from the upper deck during 7th inning of the Yankees-Braves game and he passed away.

Yeah because if he goes to that idiot 1st base umpire he would have said he did not go.

Got to respect HP ump. Machado was in his face big time and ump kept his cool. That is how umps should be. Not so short fused

When I watched the replay he had no reason to go to that moron cause he clearly offered at it

Gotta beat the West teams with so many against them down the stretch. Just win the majority of series and we should be good

Don't be an idiot over reaching for a foul ball, and don't die. It's that simple.

Very true. And you can't help but wonder if alcohol played a part. Still hate to hear it happened and you know it was really traumatic for those down below.

Hopefully the A's and Mariners won't be as tough on us. By then, both teams should be completely out of the running with nothing to play for, but........ The A's seem to enjoy kicking our asses. I really hate that gimmicky walk drawing band of misfits.

11alive.com has a 20 second video of the guy being carried out on a stretcher and in the background you can hear the PA announcer say "... please join in singing for our national pastime, Take Me Out To The Ballgame!".

I still remember when Frank Francisco threw that chair at some fans in Oakland who were yelling racial slurs at him. Unfortunately, frank missed and hit the guys wife instead of the heckler.

TRIPLE-A ROUND ROCK (73-62) got a homer from 3B Joey Gallo in a 4-1 victory against Las Vegas (New York Mets.) Gallo had gone 50 at-bats since his previous homer, on Aug. 13. Gallo has 14 homers in 196 at-bats in the Pacific Coast League.

RHP Chi Chi Gonzalez allowed one unearned run in six innings. Gonzalez has a 1.35 ERA for 20 innings in his last three starts.

DOUBLE-A FRISCO (59-71) had only four hits and went 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position during a 2-1 loss at Midland (Oakland.) CF Lewis Brinson was hitless in three at-bats and his hit his first extended downturn in the Texas League. Brinson is hitting .206 with 11 strikeouts in his last 34 at-bats.

There is not anyone that I am really interested in that has cleared revocable waivers but there is one name that has been put on revocable trade waivers that we are not sure has cleared yet or not that I would be interested in and that is Darren O'Day. His SO-BB per 9 is great and his stats overall the past 4 years have been excellent.

Would I be correct in assuming you'd replace Diekman with O'Day if we picked him up? It would almost have to be Freeman or Diekman, right?

I would replace Freeman. Diekman I like even though he has allowed 4 of the last 5 LH hitters to get a hit off of him and the one he got out swung at pitches a mile out of the strike zone. But as far as set up guys right now I am liking Kela, Dyson and if we had O'Day better than Diekman.

I'd probably be more at ease with letting Freeman go back down. But I like your thoughts on this.

Why is he available anyway?

Baltimore has put him on revocable waivers. If someone claims him they may pull him back or they could make a deal with the team who claimed him which I doubt. But if he makes it through unclaimed then Baltimore is free to make a deal with any team.

I knew I didn't ask this question correctly.

Here's what I was wondering, "why was he put on waivers?" Here they are trying to get into the playoffs and they're letting him go. Seems odd to me.
