"I (state your name) solemnly swear not to read too much into pre-season games. They are meaningless, irrelevant, and usually indicate absolutely NOTHING about the regular season that follows. This is evident from almost EVERY SINGLE Bears pre-season over the last decade and likely throughout the entire history of EVERY NFL franchise.
I will not be one of those morons calling into AM 670 post game shows and clambering that the Bears season is over before it even starts. I also will not declare the Bears pre-season NFC North champs if they in fact look unbeatable.
I am an intelligent football fan, and I realize that the first team reps in pre-season football usually consists of the most vanilla game plan possible for both the offense and the defense.
I give my word, that no matter how dominant or abysmal the Chicago Bears appear over the course of this pre-season, I will NEVERY AT ANY TIME begin to take these games seriously. The only aspect of these games that I will allow myself to become REMOTELY excited about, is the individual stellar performance of an individual player or a rookie.
For the only true winners in the pre-season, is the team that gets out of it with the least injuries.
I also swear that if I ever shall bump into richig07 at a bar, I will buy him a beer. For he is a WISE WISE MAN, and he has truly enlightened me on this beautiful summer evening.
