I said Red Sox over Phillies in 6 at the beginning of the year, so I will, begrudgingly, stick with that. However, the way teams are playing currently, see msg above. Phillies over Yankees is way more likely. Of course, I would like to see Tigers over D-backs because that would make some friends very happy.

What I think will happen: Phillies over Tigers.

I think the Tigers have the best pitching out of the playoff teams in the AL. Doug Fister has been nothing short of amazing and Verlander is ridiculous.

After the injury to Posey, I predicted Phillies over Boston in five or six games.

Today, I would have to pick Philly over New York in six....but...

I'll be rooting for whomever the Phillies are playing against.

What I think will happen: Phillies over Tigers.

Tigers pitching is the one thing that made me think about the AL rep. But Yankees have an ace of their own, and their pen is at least as good as Detroit's. I could easily see the Tigers riding Verlander to the WS.

I think it will most likely be Phillies v. Yankees, and I will make Philly the favorite because of the outstanding starting pitching. However, I will be pulling for a Brewers-Rays WS and I want the NL to win. I've mentioned this before, so please forgive me for repeating it: NL rep hasn't won two consecutive WS since the early '80s. I'd like to see that happen during my baseball watching life.

Replay of 2001 eh? I remember being really conflicted that year. No one wanted the Yankees to win their 5th title in 6 years, but 9/11 had just happened and part of me was on their side for a change.

I'd be good with any combination after that. I am a staunch ABTY (Anyone But The Yankees) person. Not a huge fan of the Philth, either, though they are the team to beat. I guess I'd be cool with Texas, too.

How epic is Boston's collapse? Think they need pitching? Lackey is 12-12 with a 6.41 ERA. If Lincecum pitched for Boston, he'd win 25 every year.
