I have said it before and will say it many times....he was on the waiver wire for a reason!! He does have what appears to be a great defense infront of him...and he usually can make the easy save. But go back and watch some of his games.
Maybe this comes from being a goalie for 20 years but he gets some lucky bounces, some of his saves baffle me....I remember playing in games where I was really on and making great saves and getting games where I was battling the puck and getting good bounces and Leighton seems to have a lot of those games.
I think he is a capable backup...but look at goalies that have won the past couple cups....Niemi is not a starter, MAF is as streaky as they come.
With this defense I think Leighton could keep the Flyers in most games
