Yes. With the defense we have in place, I think that numbers around the ballpark of a 2.4 GAA and a .915 Sv% are pretty fair estimates for what we are getting next year.

Agreed. With more defense in front of him and less tired out Pronger he should certainly playing good even if he isnt in last seasons form.

With the defensive improvements we have made, he will have the luxury of being almost as good as he was last year while putting up the same numbers.

I just do not have the confidence in him to make the "big save" when we really need one or to steal a win for us when we should have lost.

Don't get me wrong, he's a real good goalie and I like that he's a Flyer, but...

Do you need an example, Tox? Remember Game 7 against the Bruins? Let me remind you this is is 3rd playoff appearance ever. He let in 3 goals. We should have lsot that game.

Leighton has shown that he has the ability to steal a game. I only doubt his ability to steal a game when the team needs him to.

If it was a home game that you are speaking of, I was there. My seats were 16 rows up looking over Leightons right shoulder. I told my friend that it was the 1st time i saw a Flyers goalie make that save in a long time. For those who say he has a weak glove hand, I say watch that replay.I think the coaching really helped him as he seemed to be in better position as the season went on. Add a top 3 defense and we go back to having to not lose games.

Leights may be good enough to win a cup with this team...kind of like osgood with the wings but sometimes even good teams need the odd save. Can he make it when they need it most? I don't feel 100% confident when answering that question.

Can a guy like Turco help? Who knows but I'd rather hedge my bets and Turco IMO is a safer play than Bouch especially when it comes to the injury department.

I was pretty high(See what I did there) on Leighton last year when he was playing well and defended him a lot. He had a great run and although I saw some things that made me cringe, I am going to reserve any judgement on him until I see how he does this season.. I want to believe he can do it but there is just that little tick in the back of my head that makes me hesitate! So my vote is N/A!

For all the uneasiness thrown Leighton's way over the last few weeks, this poll seems pretty definitive. I think we're all on the same page -- believing he will be solid, but not spectacular. But hey, look at the last 4-5 goalies that have won a cup -- there isn't anyone terribly spectacular there either.
