Filpulla. I love the kid, but he was paid for his potential, and he hasn't lived up to it. Don't get me wrong, I like the kid and I think he's a good player (gotten tougher, not a lot of fear, good puckhandler, timely goals, smart defensively, works hard) but I think we all expected more out of that contract. I suppose an argument could be made for Dan Cleary, but I have such a man-crush on him that I cannot, WILL not back that up. For the most part, Holland hasn't burdened himself with any bad contracts in the short term.

Plus Dan Cleary was battling through three brutal and nagging injuries last year.

As Eddie hints in his post, it's tough for us Wings fans to come up with an answer to this thread. :D

This one transcends all of DC sports (plus with the Nylander contract moved nobody is really overpayed right now)

I would have to say vanek based purely on last years performance.

He was paid $7.142 million and had 28 goals and 55 points.

Tim Connolly, although not a star center, or worth what he was paid produced more for per dollar than Vanek. Again I am only looking at last year. Connolly scored 17 goals and got 65 points for $4.5 million last year.

Also, you need to realize that the sabres as a whole OVERPAY all of their players. This is the reason why we scrutinize their performance all the time, and the reason we can never afford a true star.

Yeah, I looked at it and honestly everyone is getting what they deserve or is underpaid. Poti may be making like $0.5 million too much. That's about it.

Yeah, I thought he was going to be the next big thing or at least a 60 point forward (20,40) that could create.

My pick: Fedotenko. Cannot. Stand. Him. At. All.

On the current Pens roster...it's tough to be sure, though I'm sure time will tell. From last years squad...well, there were certainly under performers, but I'm not sure that there were any that were grossly overpaid. I'd agree with the Ponikerovsky pick because he 'cost' us Caputi.

Anybody want Trent Hunter? Anybody? PLEASE!!

Jeez, remember when he and Jason King were tearing it up for early runaway Calder favourites?
King's run ended after about 12 games, but I think he had about 10 goals in that stretch.

if you say "who?", I'll understand :D

Yeah I've never heard of him. Bruno Gervais sucks too.
