I hear #Leafs are working on trading for #Penguins Max Talbot rights prior to waiting July 1st when he becomes a UFA.

Burke would be just the GM to give him 3M a year ala Colby Armstrong.

I hope to hell the Leafs are not stupid enough to consider Talbot a superstar.

With the Leafs history of being tight fisted, penny pinching, tightwads, good luck in seeing a "superstar" land there.

Dreger saying Leafs out of the mix for Talbot's negotiating rights.

Max has said he won't sign with any team who gets his rights. He's going to July 1st. WHAT A DOUCHEBAG! ;)

I guess Max is truly giving the Superstar PrimaDonna treatment to the Pens...

I'm okay with it. To a point. We offered him a three year 1.3 million per deal. He said no, and that's the end of that. He will go down as one of the greats because of Game 7, and I'll always love him for that.

We really do need to land a big name this UFA season that's for sure. I know I am going to sound overly hopeful but if Reimer is the real deal, we only need a few more pieces to be a legit contender again.

I honestly think the Leafs could sign Richards. I mean he's exactly what they need. Money & the cap aren't an issue. Richards could probably make more money in Toronto than anywhere else off the ice. As an added bonus he'd be a HOCKEY GOD.

On a team with little to no hope of being a Cup contender in the next 3-4 years late in his career. If he wants the check, he'll go there, if not, I expect he'll join a contender.

I mean, I thought he didn't want to go to a BIGGGG hockey market? Maybe I'm just thinking of Jovo.

I guess it comes down to who he feels can give him the most money & win at the same time. The Rangers make a lot of sense. They have a young team with a coach he knows very well.

The Kings would have made sense, but they just acquired Mike Richards so their probably out of the mix.

Detroit would be an interesting destination, but I think they need help on the blueline more than another center.

Vancouver not happening

Chicago has the need for another center. They've cleared up a lot of cap space. However they need to sign Sharp to an extension.

Boston not happening.

Buffalo is going to let Connolly walk. That alone is 4.5 million I think. They have an owner who wants to win. It looks like he's going to open the checkbook. They talked Regehr into coming to Buffalo. Will it work on Richards? We'll see.

Flyers, forget about it.

Who else do you think is in the mix for Brad Richards?

Calgary has the cap room, but they're not a contender and they're not a big market, so why did I waste these bytes?!?

Richards & Iggy would be fantastic. Do you think Richards would consider going to Calgary? They have the goalie. The defense is pretty good. What they need is OFFENSE, which he can provide.

Maybe with Brad's help we can be as legit a contender as the Capitals are. I mean, if any team knows how to turn regular season success into playoff gold, it's Washington.

The Flames may not be a contender without him but they could certainly become a contender with him in the lineup. I can't imagine there are too many teams out there that are already contenders who woud have enough cap space to sign him.
