Ogletree is 245 - good size with his speed at MLB, but he's still raw at the position.

Barron is about 215 and a converted safety.

Then there is 2 rookies on the other side at 220.

How many projects does this organization need?

We're mostly in the nickel anyway and it's not like Ayers was a world beater or anything. We save $3 million and get to see what Hager or the rookies do in maybe 1/4 of the plays on defense.

Apparently Williams likes Hager's play enough to cut the large salary of Ayers. Snisher had no intention of bring back Ayers because he is obviously on the backside of his career despite all of teh drama orchestrated by Fthe drama queen extraordinaire.

Outside of Ogletree, we are getting quite small at LB. Guess what we are going to do in the 2017 draft? Just like two years hence when we loaded up on big O-lineman, we'll draft nothing but big LBs. We do have Forrest who is in the 250lb range though.

We will see if we can stop the run. I don't see a lot of good defenses with 2 LBs starting under 220-225

Ayers was good against the run.

Forrest is Back up MLB and I don't think we have a lot of picks.

Looks like they are going away from any semblance of a standard 4-3 defense. Looks like a 4-1-6 (depth chart from therams.com):

LDE William Hayes, Ethan Westbrooks, Matt Longacre
LDT Aaron Donald, Dominique Easley
RDT Michael Brockers, Cam Thomas
RDE Robert Quinn, Eugene Sims
MLB Alec Ogletree, Bryce Hager, Josh Forrest, Nic Grigsby
LCB Trumaine Johnson, Troy Hill
CB Lamarcus Joyner, Troy Hill
RCB Coty Sensabaugh, EJ Gaines
S Mark Barron, Cory Littleton
FS Maurice Alexander, Cody Davis
SS TJ McDonald
