Predicting the Redskins 53 Man Roster After The Browns Preseason Game | Fanspeak Washington Redskins Blog

he is only keeping 5 wrs and moss is one and robby is gone

he has robinson over rambo which i disagree at this point

he has royster making it with seastrunk

Interesting take on Seastrunk and Redd.
It does look like that is the trickiest part of this(stashing the right one). I have to agree with him on Rambo, but he is definitely improving. Time will tell here shortly.

As much as I have nightmares of Aldrick reverting back to his old ways, I think he has shown great improvement. Tough for me to see giving Santana that spot over him now.

i think he has a point on redd and seastrunk

as for rambo he has improved his tackling and he had a special teams tackle as well so he is doing what he needs to to make the team ' if he gets better at communicating then he could be something

Gruden likes Moss so I don't see Moss getting a pink slip!

At this point the only change I would make is Moss vs Aldrick. Moss is over the hill and on the downside, AR is still improving, especially so far this preseason. I'd keep the future talent over the past talent, because its not like we're about to win a Super Bowl anyway. Plus we have some veteran WRs currentlly with PG and DJax, even Andre Roberts is a vet on his second contract. Moss can still contribute, but so can AR and AR has much more upside.

Other than that the roster looks about set.

it will come down to veteran leadership and trust vs youth and explosiveness

Agreed, and while I wouldn't call DJax a leader, he is a veteran, as is Garcon. They can mentor the rookie, Grant, if he needs it.*

*Which given he's maybe the best route runner on the team I'm not sure he does need it

Actually, Andre Roberts probably has more leadership traits than either Jackson or Garcon (the Citiadel will do that to you). Moss is on the bubble. Personally, I'm not sure he makes it.

I agree. Robinson has really improved this year (or he is finally getting a shot). He should make this team. I also see potential in Ross. He is probably PS bound.

Y'all boys been handing Santana Moss a pink slip ever year the past three years. Lets hope we keep the best 53 players. Youth and potential mean exactly Dick come 1:00 Sunday. If he can still ball and help the team Moss should make roster. If the young kids are more useful, well then we know how that goes

Hey, but eventually we'll be right! I have no problem if he makes it, but this is the stiffest competition he has ever faced.

He had no viable competition two or three years ago. Now he does. We added two FAs that are ahead of him, one rookie who looks like a keeper and Aldrick has improved from last year.

Moss is either 4, 5, 6 or 7 right now so his place on the roster may depend on how many we keep. He was #1 3 years ago, #2 the previous years with Garcon in town.

I'd be fine keeping Moss as a 6th, but he should not stay over Grant or AR. Better to cut him a year early than a year too late.

That's the point. Don't let future talent go to keep a guy that might, and I stress might, have 20 receptions this year. If we decide to keep 6 and we can work moss in with grant and AR, I'm ok. But realize that if we decide to keep moss, and 6 WRs, that means we have to cut young talent at another position, like CB, RB or OL.

How many times have we kept future "talent" that didnt pan out at the expense of proven production even if limited?? Does the name Niles Paul ring a bell??

Ok, that's one, even tough I don't remember what proven talent we cut. Who else did we keep over proven talent? Honestly I can't think of anyone. For everyone you can name that we cut prematurely, I can probably name one that we hung onto too long (fletcher, Cooley, Jamal brown..).

You realize that moss is 35 and will be 5th or 6th on the WR depth chart even if we keep him, right? Moss has been a great Redskin and deserves every curtesy we can afford. But he is not the player he was. This doesn't mean he can't contribute sparingly this year, but there is nothing after this year. So, are you saying You would rather keep moss than, say Silas redd, or chase minnifield, or Compton, or Akeem Davis, or josh lerebius/Adam gettis?
