I've been thinking about it and here is my reasoning:

1. Oregon's defense can't be worse than aTm.
2. Oregon's offense IS better.
a. More Balanced
b. Less dependent on one player
c. Even faster
d. More weapons and options on the field

Now does that mean they will win if they meet in the National Championship game? No but I honestly don't see anyone on Oregon's schedule beating them. I know Standford, UCLA and Washington are pretty good but I don't see it.

As for Alabama I think they need to be careful of LSU, Ole Miss and Georgia in the SEC Championship game. Bitch and moan all you like about SEC team's schedules but I would play Oregon's before Alabama's without question.

The scoring defense for Oregon will be top 10 at the end of the season. (4 now)

Offense will be 1 or 2 in both total offense and scoring offense.

The Ducks will also most likely have the best Turnover margin in the country, a top 10 red zone defense, and lead the country in INTs.

A&M is dependent on one player? Did you watch the game? Heard of Evans? Not sure Oregons offense is better by enough to claim that it "IS" better.

Just need A&M to win out, then Alabama lose in the SECCG to a one loss team, and A&M jump the winner and end in the BCS game against Oregon so we can settle this.

I'm not sure I buy Oregon's offense is better.

Defense I think so.

Offense, Oregon is more of a run team and I think Alabama matches up better. Also I may be wrong, but I think Mariota is more of a speedster than someone like JFF who just can't seem to get tackled. As well, outside JFF, Oregon would need some extremely tall receiver who can catch horrible thrown passes out of the air to save the QB once he's managed to Brett Farve it up.

To say A&M was dependent on 1 player is wrong. Like half their yards for the game went the 1 receiver who was clowning Alabama DB's.

I'd rather play Oregon than Texas A&M again personally.

New coach likes to toss it around a bit more than Kelly did, eh Oregon fans?

Manziel and Evans are a nightmare to deal with, I don't think Oregon has any players like them, neither of them go down!

Mariota threw for 465 Saturday.

And ran for over 200.

The difference here is: You did it against Tennessee, A&M did it against Alabama.

I have. That doesn't change the weapons A&M has. Our offense almost put up more yards on Bama than Oregon did on Tennessee. I'm not saying the Oregon offense isn't great, but it isn't a "hands down, no question" situation like the OP tries to make it.

This Oregon team is not as disciplined yet as the Kelly teams. Way more penalties.

But also last years Duck's team didn't sling it nearly as much as this one did Saturday and will moving forward. Helfrich has put some swag in this Oregon team that it hasn't had under the Kelly era.

We will see if that is a good thing or a bad thing moving forward.

The offense is going faster and looks to be the best one Oregon has ever had. And it really isn't close. Now that is said with a 3 game scope. More football to be seen before I have an opinion on whether I like the Helfrich teams better. As of today, I do.

After the ratings this game got, I think the fix might be in the works :ss:

Y'all can rail on me all you want for having A&M #2 in my top 25. Last year Bama and A&M were playing the best ball in the country at the end of the year. I've seen nothing this year that changes that opinion. Have faith in my Johnny!

Oregon only played offense for 40 minutes.

20 minutes of melting the clock with backups running the ball into the ground.

They are very evenly matched against each other, I wouldn't want to play them again this year.

Perhaps your schedule is too soft then. Who do you think you are, an SEC team?
