True TJF12. Mitch recently admitted the Lakers full rebuild mode is slowed, if not put on hold with Kobe still here and that this year is basically a Kobe farewell tour. That aside, the Lakers are beginning to take steps in the right direction and in about a year or two with that young core and the addition of some FAs and more talent, they could indeed be really good.

Yeah, it's pretty funny how so many were jumping all over the Lakers for the Kobe farewell tour vs. developing the young guys. They seem to have gotten some things figured out in that regard and are starting to balance the 2.

If the young guys can continue to develop, they could make themselves attractive to top FA's. Also, as rule said, if they manage to keep the top pick, it could be used as trade bait. Although, if it's the #1 or #2 pick, they may be better off keeping it and drafting Ben Simmons or Brandon Ingram.
