Have you been to the Stampede parade?
:ss:

Who has better pizza?
I have obtained a photo of the Cup parade in Washington DC in 2063.
Yeah, we didn't win that year either. And man did that global warming thing turn out to be legit!
Is there anyone in the world who would say that LA is a better sports town than Chicago? I'm not gonna crap on Kings fans though, there are plenty of good ones.
I would say that Chicago is a better sports town than LA, but as far as the Hawks are concerned, I remember back in the early 2000s when Dollar Bill Wirtz was in charge and they had trouble getting 5,000 people in the building (they likely sold more tickets, but the arena was Jobing.com like empty).

When some fans do stay away they are good fans whose team has bad ownership and when others stay away its because they are bad fans.
Dollar Bill Wirtz also blacked out Hawks home games in the Chicago metro area, but those Hawks teams in the early 2000s were pretty godawful as well.
1. 2 million people is a damn good turnout. I think Boston pulled in 1 million.
2. New Haven, CT has the best pizza.
3. If you deny global warming, hang yourself.
Neither. This title is further east.
"Warming"? "WARMING"? Where is all this "warming" if the guy is wearing a coat? HUH? STUDY IT OUT SHEEPLE!
I'm not saying it's a better hockey town, that's a whole 'notha ball of wax. If a town loves sports in general, they'll show up when the team is winning. Hence: Chicago getting 2mil to a championship parade. LA just isn't a great sports town. Not to say their teams don't have big followings, but it's not sport obsessed like a place like Chicago is. Maybe it's the weather...

Yeah, I think it was a good showing for the Kings. Kudos to their fans.
Can we be honest about the sports town thing, it's pretty formulaic. With a few exceptions, the farther North you go and the more working class a town is the better a sports town it is. As the climate gets colder and people have less money, they watch sports, because it's cold outside and there ain't nothing else to do.
Cleveland, Chicago, Boston, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Detroit - all good sports towns.
Miami, Los Angeles, Charlotte, Houston, Denver - not so much.
The nicer the climate and the higher on the socio-economic scale a town is, the more likely people are to be out playing sports rather than watching them. We really should stop acting like it's a mystery or that there is some exceptional loyalty genetically transmitted to sports fans of one area or another. It is what it is.
Spoken like a Caps and Nats fan.
Huh? We land softly in the middle.
Add to the mix LA is a transient town, there are probably as many transplants there as natives. Tough to sustain a loyal following when you have a revolving door of citizens.
Wasn't there a front office person in L.A. at some point who was quoted saying something like "When I came here I thought it would be an easy sell because there are so many transplanted Canadians here, then I realized that part of the reason they left Canada in the first place is because they hate hockey"?
