New kick off rules tend to favor running back athletes now more than deep threats. That means we will see a lot of running backs returning kicks. Might this rule change lead affect the running back position? It might only be a few teams with creative coaching staffs, like the rams and chiefs, that take full advantage of it, but could the rule changes turn into several extra TDs for certain RBs? Kyren Williams has already been announced as the rams kick returner. If he adds a few TDs in special teams, that could be significant.

Probably nothing, but something to think about.

Maybe. But my gut reaction to this news is to load up on Blake Corum. Williams has an injury history and if he's gonna return kicks on top of RB duties, I can't see him making it the season without missing time. Even with him healthy, if Williams is returning kicks, that might signal the RB workload is more an even split

Well the report was he'd be returning punts, not kicks. So the rule changes are irrelevant.

Bigger nugget in the story is that it's pretty damned rare for a team's 'feature back' to be on special teams at all, so it suggests that he's not the lead Dawg a lot of us thought he was

McVay's fantasy league just changed their rules to include return yardage so he's just gonna YOLO Kyren as much as possible cause he already has him cuffed with Corum.

Almost all leagues have an option to reward points for returns yardage, but generally dont.

I was in a league for years that did this. Tyler Lockett was a steal in those leagues - had almost as many return yardage as he did receiving yardage.
