he has gotten away from what worked last season . a heavy dose of morris and helu was the answer

Of all the games we've played, this one was the most frustrating. I said over and over that we had to run Alfred Morris, so Peyton Manning could be kept off the field. That plan worked, brilliantly in the 1st half. In fact, Peyton Manning was on the bench for a total of 30 minutes. Also, the Broncos only scored seven points in the 1st half, which was a season low. That was courtesy of the defense. Then comes the 2nd half. When we got the ball, RGIII threw for three straight unsuccessful passes. Not to mention, Alfred Morris was not ran, until there was 7:49 left in the game. Meanwhile, RGIII was looking horrible. He got picked off, twice. Kirk Cousins did, as well. Of course, we know what Peyton was able to do.

At this point, I have had it with Kyle Shanahan. I do not believe he is a good playcaller. Alfred Morris has not had one 100 yard game, this season. It's not that he can't. It is because he is not getting enough carries to do so. I also do not like the fact the the staff took so long to unleash Jordan Reed, until last week. I honestly want the Shannys gone, if we do not go anywhere, this season. Mike will not fire his son. They are a nepotism deal, which is something that I also don't like. Therefore, Mike and Kyle have to go, together. We need a real OC.

In order to be able to run the ball you have to be able to pass the ball some also. For several reasons the team didn't do that well. Once Denver realized Griffin and the pass game sucked they loaded the box with 8 people and took away the run. That meant the Skins should have been able to pass but no such luck. Once the Broncos got ahead they knew the Skins had to pass and they gave the Skins a heavy dose of blitzes up the middle.

I absolutely agree this team has to be a run first team but you have to be able to pass the ball some. I also 2nd MORE screen passes when they blitz up the middle. I would have love to see a middle screen. Instead we saw Denver use it with great success.

I have defended Kyle numerous times on this board; however, there really is no defense for the DEN play-calling. Abandoning the run was insane.

I'm not sure if there is a "protection plan" for RG3 but if there is...it's backfiring.

Redskins need better WR's imho, I don't see any of those guys as being spectacular - they can't pass the ball effectively partly because of that - but they do need to run the ball more, I haven't seen a whole lot of Alfred Morris - I know Helu has played well but if they get the passing game together they can run it better

Not to defend kyle ...

but the combination of

1. O-line getting bull rushed up the middle
2. Griffin poor decision and not seeing the field
3. the receiver not getting separation & making a play

Is the perfect storm of suck and in a nut shell explains this seasons failures. We need to score more points.
