Ill say dislocated shoulder. Doubt we'll know for sure either way but I think we can expect to be without him until the playoffs. Dislocation is better than broken collarbone so Im trying to stay positive. We can't catch a break with these injuries this year. But hey, if Ottawa can lose their best offensive player and their starting goalie at the same time and still win we can too. Just an opportunity for someone else to step up.

Fwiw, I think Marty is more important than Kovy.

My initial thought when I saw the play was also that the season is over.
You saw how clueless the PP was without him on that 5 minute major.

I am not giving up on the season, but it will be very difficult if he is out for a long time.

Now at least maybe that minority of Devil fans who don't like Kovy will see how important he is to this team.

Yeah, we were struggling on offense as it is, we will be cluster fuck without Kovy. That's a ton of minutes to replace, especially on PP and PK. We are in deep shit if he's out long.

I won't give up till we are mathematically eliminated, but the good feeling I had with Marty coming back just sunk like the titanic.

I think he's done, couldn't move his arm after the hit and he left the building last night without his arm through the shirt sleeve. He still had it close to his body an hour after the hit.

Well Lou just announced 2-4 weeks for Kovy, he called Marty day to day so Kovy's season is over right

I just dont see us making it now. We were on thin ice (NPI) as it was WITH him. We just dont have the horses to score enough goals to make it. Half the roster is underacheiving and you cant have that

Way i look at it then. If we were going to squeak in with him and get bounced by Pitt or Boston in the 1st round. What's the point then? We miss we have like a 1% chance of getting the #1 pick which I can see us grtting because the nhl owes us

Are we crazy here people? We're giving up? I think we see people step up now, we'll hang in there and make the playoffs. I still have faith that we could make a move. We'll get Zubrus and Kovy back just in time for the playoffs, it'll be like making 2 major acquisitions.

The ice is a major issue. Happens all the time. By the 10 minute mark of the 3rd every home game the ice is a disaster. Guys losing their edge, the puck hopping over guys sticks left and right. Just the other night against the Rangers they were stopping play every two minutes and fixing up the ice.
