there are some things to go over about a possible lockout.

I think he wants to be paid if the lockout occurs.

I know Scott, I was just being a smartass. Sorry, should have put a smiley face. I'm just getting overly tired of the damn Kovalchuk debacle.

I don't want to sign like an idiot homer, but I've seen that a possible lockout in a few years was the only thing preventing him from signing a 1-year deal with the Flyers, a la Hossa.

Just my 2 cents, but since the numbers that he was offered to come play in the KHL have been leaked out, I really kinda like this guy. He was offered 14 million a year for 3 years, and thats tax free, netting him 42 million. On the flip side, he's trying to sign a 10 year deal worth 100 million before taxes in the NHL, worth about 50 million after taxes. Now, I'm a business man, and if it was me, I'd already be across the pond. Apparently he really likes playing in the NHL and has dreams of the cup. If he signs a 10 year 100 million contract to stay in the NHL he is essentially taking a 65% discount to stay. Must really like the NHL to still be considering it.
