Thought they'd win this one but would have lost to Detroit Tuesday. I predicted 5-20 to finish the season when they had 25 to go. Still looking to be the case.

Pretty poor effort last night. Even with recent losses, they've been playing hard. Defense was the furthest thing from their minds.

They were just trying to make up for a couple of those that they shouldn't have won, but did.

That's also a good illustration of why the 3rd slot is probably the best case scenario for the team right now. If you run that sim x number of times, the team in 3rd almost never falls out of the top 5. So if we finish with the 3rd worst record of higher (1st or 2nd worst), it basically guarantees we keep our pick and all this won't be for naught.


EDIT: LOL @ the Nets. I just ran a sim and they won the lottery, except Atlanta holds the rights to swap picks with them this year so Atlanta gets the pick. How amazing would that be for them? The Hawks could win the East or even the Finals and still get the #1 pick. The Joe Johnson trade might be the worst trade ever (from the Nets perspective)

Yea Turkey you illuminate the insanity of the NBA draft and it just gets more bizarre each year. I really believe they should return to the old system where record determines draft order, Period!

There's been talk that Silver plans to change it within the next couple of years. I've seen a few proposals that have been leaked out to the media but nothing concrete yet, just ideas.

If memory serves, a big part of the reason behind the lottery was that it was supposed to discourage tanking. Clearly, that hasn't worked and as an added bonus, has led to accusations that the lottery is rigged. Just go back to reverse order based on record and if teams tank, they tank. That's between them and their fanbase.
