Defense wins championships

The Celt are the best 3 pt shooting team

The games they blew 20 pt leads was because they didn’t hit their 3’s ,which affected their D, which allowed the Knicks to come back…

Thibs does that in his own way.

He gets max effort from his players and he is arguably the best defensive coach in the NBA.

You take these things for granted when that was literally all you used to ask for before Thibs was hired.

You hire an offensive minded coach and the defense will regress.

Or, better yet, tell him he needs to hire an offensive coordinator and make that guy an associate head coach. Give them full reigns on the offense.

But the Knicks probably get worse if they do what you want and fire Thibs.

Thibs stresses D , he doesn’t implement any intricate defenses to stop any star players from goin off on his team

Pretty fundamental, play basic D you get more minutes!


It works! And it also works because he has his players buy in to it. Which makes him a good coach.

I disagree. Brunson plays pretty poor D and gets the most minutes. KATs D is not so good either and he gets minutes. He has to implement defensive schemes to hide those guys. And they play good team defense as a whole. It is far more than simply play basic D and get more minutes. You underappreciate what Thibs brings to the team. If you get your wish and he is fired you better hope they bring in another guys that does defense.
