So much sports chatter is about how rookie QBs should sit and learn a while like Rodgers, Brady, Love, even Mahomes etc. not just get thrown in there right away like Bryce Young, Justin Fields, etc. So now Atlanta is doing it right, with Penix holding the clipboard, and people think that's bad?
I think it kind of depends on the player. Some can actually figure it out right away and not suffer a death spiral, others need to sit and get some time watching and learning. So it really does depend on each individual. Those that get tossed to the wolves and struggle early have to be as mentally tough as they come to overcome that kind of adversity. If they do they do they usually end up pretty good, if they can't they're done and everyone jumps on the "bust" label.
