Well I have semi good news rko.the devs signed mair today after plll cleared waivers and rolston may have sports hernia.they are waiting on second opinion if all goes well maybe they get him on ltir and we ll actually get to see Tsn field a full team for a little bit

for those asking here is the true situation for the devils.



out of camp, they put salvador and salmella on LTIR, killing the 3 mil they needed to get under the cap... by about 18k.


however while they were under the cap they only had 20 players including their goalies. leaving you with your basic 18 skaters, with no replacements (they had 11 fwd's and 7 d)

against washington:

Volchenkov hit in the face with a shot, and rolston with something unknown. but as clarkson23 just stated it could be a sports hernia)
and Leblond was suspended.

that reduced the roster to 15 skaters for the pitt game.


leblond just cleared waivers, mair was signed so they are back to 16 now. but are still right against the cap with no room for reserves.






the way training camp went there is AT LEAST 1 other player who made the team but couldn't be brought on because they couldn't afford them, and other players (such as zubrus, langenbrunner ect) who would create cap room if they were buried in the minors would have to go through waivers and the devils would probably lose them for nothing, something lou obviously doesn't want.


had the devils had cap space going into the season, and been able to keep all the players that they wanted to you would most likely also see at least Jacob Josefson on the team.



chances are once a player is moved, whether it be Rolston onto LTIR or Zubrus or Langs via trade. you will most likely see Josefson brought up and centering the 3rd line, as well as potentially Tedenby as well, however as i stated

Josefson, Mair, and Tedenby INITIALLY aren't/weren't on the team due to no cap space for them, even tho once their is they will likely all be on the team

At this point Lou hasn't had to make a deal. If Rolston goes on LTIR he may not have too. However depth is obviously a problem at the moment for the Devils. Mair is an okay 4th liner. Right now the Devils look a bit top heavy. The first line can be dynamic. After that I'm not so sure.

that second line isn't shabby either. and hell i'd like to have zubrus on my 3rd line on almost any team.

i think you're looking a bit too much into the depth. the team so far in all honesty has suffered from lack of numbers for one, and the biggest trend in the first 3 has been dogshit goaltending.
