Our punting situation sucks, period! Go get Bobby Cowan who was just released by the Rams. They were not going to cut Pro Bowl punter Johnny Hecker but Cowan held his own this preseason with Hecker.

I think that too many people are under thinking this competition. If you are the incumbent and the decision comes down to tonight, haven't you already lost? To me it says that the veteran incumbent has done nothing to distinguish himself from the new guy. If so, it also says that the new guy has the potential to get better where the incumbent failed to do so. Bottom line.......... Looks like Hocker has won the job.

I tend to agree. At a minimum, it says that the team is serious about replacing you. Now, if Hocker lays an egg tonight, he may make the decision easier, but it appears to me to be his job to lose.

Missing that 36 yarder did not help his cause. Of course in the post game presser Gruden alluded to his kickoff abilities. This is not going to be an easy decision. I'm not sure NOW if Hocker has kept his slight edge.
