I agree Cali. Something needs to be done before 7/15. If it goes beyond that and KC plays on the tag this year, he is gone and we will get a 3rd rounder. I have to think the FO knows this and either a LTD or trade will get done. If neither gets done, then stubborn Dan and George deserve to be left out in the cold. I guess (since it is obvious KC does not, under much circumstance want to be here) is he will be traded at or prior to the draft.

Everyone..Skins, KC, trade partners (likely SF or Cle) is jockeying for position and leverage to maximize their gain and minimize their loss. Just my 2cents.

I seriously think that they have realized a QB change at this point is basically throwing the 2017 season away. So the plan is probably to let Kirk play out on the tag while they try to improve the defense and draft a QB to groom to take over next year. While every one says there is no way the Skins will franchise tag Cousins a 3rd time, we are currently slated to have $68M in cap space in 2018. So it would not be out of the realm of possibility that they tag him and try to trade him again next year. Netting a 2nd round pick in 2018 as apposed to a 3rd rounder in 2019.

The only way I see him traded this year is if they lower expectations on compensation AND are willing to trade him to the Niners. A forced trade to the Browns wont work because Kirk isnt going to sign with the Browns long term, and he might simply refuse to show up for them and force the Skins to play him on the tag. IF they really wanted to trade him, they should have used the non-exclusive tag.

If it unfolds in that manner then this would be complete mismanagement (not surprising). So you develop & start a guy for 3 straight years & throw a ton of cash his way & then get rid of him for a so-so draft pick? Crazy (but again would not shock me). People do alot of very strange things in order to protect their ego. We know Dan Snyder runs his company based off of his ego. Bruce seems to be very egocentric as well. Add in Cousins ego, and we have a three ego omelet. A lot can happen between now and July 15th, but IM not getting the feeling that wither side is willing to make this right.
