Justin Smith has the 4th longest consecutive games started streak in the NFL but this week is likely going to move up at least one spot.

Jeff Backus, whose streak is 4 games longer than Smith's, is doubtful to play on Thanksgiving.

London Fletcher, whose streak is 8 games longer than Smith's , is "uncertain" for his game on Thanksgiving. Fletcher, at age 37, has NEVER missed an NFL game.

As hard as both Justin & London play this game that is pretty damn impressive!

I'll never understand why they act like it is the most amazing thing ever for a QB to never miss a game, when they typically have 5-7 guys making sure they don't get hit on each play. Where as guys in the trenches have contact every snap and a good portion of that is below the waist... LBs maybe not quite as much, but still considerably more than QBs.

A good percentage of the time people won't include QBs onto this list. When this list usually comes up, they make note that they didn't include QBs.

Tell that to the people who say Brett Favre and Peyton Manning are the toughest guys to ever play in the NFL. ESPN, FOX, NFL Network, etc.

Albert Breer:

Perspective on that -- When that Backus streak started at UofM in '97, he was blocking for Brian Griese. Griese'a backup? Tom Brady.

London Fletcher is active so his consecutive games started streak will remain intact. However, as previously mentioned, Backus did miss this Lions game, so Justin Smith moved up a spot.

Fletcher's play at his age and size is amazing. Under appreciated LB.
