Got keep my mind off the Dub's game.

Frank out of the Bronx

Owner speeds a gazillion $$$ on old players, zero chemistry and injuries hit them, they are 5 and 13 with only the Knicks below them in the East.

Anyone really surprised the Nets are flopping?

Frankly, I am pretty surprised by just how bad the Nets are. I had them pegged to be 4th in that conference (followed by the Knicks), so the collective sinkhole coming out of New Jersey/New York is the shocker to me.

Brooklyn + NYK are shocking for sure, although I do remember laughing when I saw they picked up Bargnani and the tools on ESPN starting talking about how he could be the "missing piece". I'm also pretty shocked by Portland being 15-3, how is that not on the list? Granted, they haven't had the toughest schedule, but still...15-3 and #1 in the West!

BTW, Denver won again, they are 11-6 now.

For me its Portland being 15-3. They have some talented players, but really only added Lopez and Mo Williams and lost Hickson, so this is really the same core from last year. 33-49 to leading the west is a huge surprise to me, even if its still early.

Don't know, if Ref's are going to call offensive fouls while Aldridge lowers his shoulder and runs over his man on a consistent basis, he could be the MVP of the league.

Don't get me wrong, I think POR is a talented bunch, but until they prove they won't falter after the ASG, I don't have much respect for them.

Any day now I'm expecting them to sign Brandon Roy or Greg Oden and have them get injured for the rest of the year

Ron Ron vs Kenyon Martin death match over noodles

8 round boxing exhibition you give it to Martin for his length?

5 round UFC fight, Ron Ron takes it in a 1st round KO?

NYK and NETS finishing in the lottery this year, what more can you ask for?

Even taking injuries into account I think the Nets' start to the season is a historic debacle. They won 49 games last year. Who's the best player they lost in the offseason...CJ Watson? Kris Humphries?

Folks have heard of addition by subtraction.

It this case its subtraction by addition. They added KG, PP, Terry. and gave Deron Williams a 5 year $98 million contract, and traded 5 players + two picks for Joe Johnson.

That's a lot of cap room tied up in players who are basically past their prime. JJ can still be effective, but is he worth 20+ mil a year, NO. DWill has been overweight and out of shape in NJ/BRONX, that team is going to be salary cap hell for the next 2-3 years until those players are off the books.

When you first put this up NBK, I knew the east was bad and was more thinking about Portalnd surprising me, but man, only 2 teams are over .500. The Atlantic division is pathetic, if Boston gets Rondo back soon, they may win that division. Good for Brad Stevens.

Aldridge is a beast this year. POR is a great team. They also haven't had any major injuries to deal with.

As for the Dubs, as another poster so eloquently put it "Is the sky falling?" No.

Dubs aren't playing elite ball, but we aren't stinking it up either. We just beat DAL and we did lose to HOU, but some fans want to act like its the end of the world.

Take a deep breathe folks, its going to be a long season.

Totally agree. The biggest issue right now aside from health, is the long defensive lapses. They've been able to make a few 2nd half comebacks, but if they are playing solid defensively, they wouldn't be down 18 or whatever it has been lately to begin with. For me two important things stand out early. 1) that Iguodala makes this team better in a number of ways and was a great fit for the team and 2) when healthy, Green and Barnes should be solid off the bench, but our bench after those 2 is WAY too inconsistent and a back up PG and a more traditional big man are going to be needed to do anything in the playoffs. Speights, JO and Douglas were all going to need to contribute. JO to me, looked good and hopefully Festus can get back soon and provide some quality minutes. Speights needs more games like against Houston, hopefully that gives him some confidence and he starts stringing together some quality minutes. Douglas had a few good games early while Curry was out, but now back from his injury he needs to step up his game because Steph can't be playing 40+ minutes. I'm not expecting much from Nedovic this year, (I'm a fan though, and think he is going to help this team in the future) but we need something from the backup PG position. I think Meyers gives it a few weeks, but I'd be surprised if he doesn't make a minor move.

Eastern Conference sucks. The Suns (who should be tanknig) would be a 3 seed in the East. Pathetic. The only teams worth watching in the East are the Heat and the Pacers. And the Pacers are boring to watch even though they are good.

Stevenson is fun to watch, the guy puts up near triple double #'s on a nightly basis, I have him on my fantasy team too :yahoo:
