I am not an OSU fan so there goes that theory.Holy Karens... I'll just reply to all of you: @ellupo @Wamu @blastfromthepast @fritowrdo
I'll give my argument very clearly because some of you keep throwing out strawman or jumping to conclusions I'm not making. I'll ask Q's in return.
1. Michigan technically did break the rules. However, the rules they broke were completely outdated, as teams routinely "steal" signals via video and coach-to-coach relationships. I know OSU homers have to cling to a technicality, but if signals are being "stolen" or shared, it doesn't matter how its done as far as its effect on the game. We know Purdue and OSU shared Michigans signals that year, so who cares how it's done? You'd have to desperate to do so. OSU homers NEED this "cheating" label to explain away their 4 losses, much like the Democrats NEEDED to brand Trump as a "felon" (even though that's all been debunked). No, I watched all the games, and OSU simply got manhandled and outplayed, except for this past year. You guys beat yourselves.
2. This is nothing like the "Houston Astros Scandal" because Michigan was getting no advantage that other teams didn't already have. It wasn't real time. Other teams scouted and tried to steal each others signals throughout the year, and teams change their signals throughout the year. I saw a viral video with supposed "proof" of the Michigan sideline signaling their Defense of a run play based on supposed Stallions handiwork, and the video was cut off, probably because the play resulted in a touchdown for the other team.
3. The allegations came out, and Michigan still had to win games with everything changed by other teams. They beat OSU, Alabama, and Washington straight up. Only OSU bitter temper tantrums try to claim that there was cheating in those games. You just got beat. I know it hurts, but you got spoiled in your dominance, and now you can't handle defeat. You're a gated community franchise that throws fits and temper tantrums when you lose. There's a reason why you're the most disliked fanbase in the nation, and it's not because you win all the time. Many other programs win far more than you.
That about covers it. I get it, OSU fans have to cling to desperation to try to write off their losses. But they watched the games, they're actually mad at their own team for being dominated. They have to vent and try to hope for a miracle. No.. Michigan has owned you for 4 years. Just grow up and deal with it.
Stallions was caught on the CMU sideline in disguise. That has never been attempted to the best of my knowledge.
Also, if Michigan didn't do anything really wrong, why did Harbough "run" to the NFL? Why were text message deleted from Stallions to the Michigan coaching staff?
It is like the Astros cheating scandal from a fans perspective. Both fan bases downplay and attempt to ignore the facts. Both fanbases have convinced themselves that they should keep the title. Both fanbases are delusional and know that they cheated.
