Can’t say I’m surprised with Book coming back. Clark was probably pushing him for #2 too and with Pyne and Buchner (hopefully) coming years probably thinks his shot is passing him by.

Big question is does Kristofic stay. He and Phil were HS teammates and it seems Jurkovec was a big reason Kristofic chose ND. He’s a likely #2 on the OL depth chart.

Well it's too bad he never lived up to the hype but it is what it is. Good luck to the kid it sounded like Clark was impressing the coaches and might well have been the back up any way next season and with Pyne right behind he wasn't going to start.

True, I actually didn't think of that. It's just becoming the norm at this point.

That’s kind of the problem though.

I dont think Kelly develops backups at all. They spend so much time training up the starter that no one else gets a chance to improve. They also rarely engineer blow outs to allow the backups game reps.

They did get a few more than we were used to seeing this year
