The players are the ones not breeding a winning culture. If they're not performing then send them packing. I hope the one that said he welcomes a traded gets traded.

I tell you what.... there’s not many players on this team that I’d lose sleep over trading / losing.

I think if you did a secret poll of the players they would unanimously vote to send Gallo down and bring back DeShields

And the article is right that with some of the players coming up thru the minors Tocci's time will be short lived.

It appears the plan is, just to hang onto the guy for this season, then put him in AA next season and see if we can't develop his skills.

I for one, would have had no problem at all with sending both Gallo and DDJ down. They both have earned their demotions. However, only one of them got to pack. And that's wrong.

Why wouldn't you want the same type of return for Kela?
I do want a good return for Kela. The reason it would take more to me for Leclerc is that we have him under control longer.

If they want fair then they need to be in Dallas this fall. That is the only kind of Fair they are going to get.

I expect it is more of a Tocci vs. DeShields issue instead of a Gallo vs. DeShields issue with the players.

If they don't like clubs keeping Rule 5 guys then they should take it up with the union that negotiated the rules for such things. As our esteemed former manager would say, "That's the way baseball go."

Some of these guys are too worried about unwritten baseball rules and seniority and not enough about what it takes to rebuild a team. If a player going down to the minors after hitting as poorly as DeShields has for the past several weeks upsets some guys in the clubhouse then thise guys need a dose of reality. Whether DeShields spends a week or two in the minors shouldn't affect guys either way.

That is the way I see it anyway. That is coming from someone who has thought Gallo should have been sent down a few weeks back.

I do think both Roogie and Joey should have been sent down at some point. Just because they made those mistakes doesn't mean I think they should make the same mistake with everyone just to be fair.

This club, as well as every other club, does unfair things at times. It was very unfair and unwise to not tell Beltre 9 months ago that we were rebuilding. It wasn't right to lie to him and it kept us from being able to get something in return for him.

Drew Robinson's slash line from AAA this year.

.333/.476/.613

He has never come close to doing that well in the minors. A lot of guys mope and struggle when sent back down. Kudos to him for working hard to try and get back.

This organization doesn’t do “fair”.

Deshields got sent down and he deserved it

Gallo deserved to get sent down, but didn’t

Odor deserved to get sent down, but didn’t ( he’s doing great now tho)

ABD didn’t deserve to lose his spot in the rotation, but he did.

I hope DDJ makes the same strides.....But he was big-time pissed about being shipped out.

I think he will improve and I think his attitude will be fine eventually. I just don't know if he is ever going to hit well enough to stave off the influx of outfielders that we have on the way within the next 2-3 years. If he does rebound he would be a good trade candidate.

You are probably right. Speed is great but if your On Base Pct is mediocre then it is negated.

Tocci is not hitting, but I don't think we should be surprised at that. He has only started 13 games this year. Only once has he had a streak of starting in consecutive games. That is a tough spot to be successful in. He is also only 22 and has had only 55 AB at the AAA level. He may not ever pan out, but I don't see how anyone could have expected much more of him this year.

The Diamondbacks have traded for a relief pitcher from the Rays.
