He went full immersion into a movie about himself leaving Hollywood. Only a few people apparently knew it was a huge hoax, although there were rumors that it was some kind of work at the time.First thing I think of when someone mentions Joaquin is that awkward Letterman interview where he said he was retiring to start a hiphop career. Reading back on it now, it sounds like that was all a set up for a movie I never heard of.

Horrible decision on his part. He did serious damage to his rep while doing that.
I think “Her” was after, and he got a lot of accolades for that one...Agreed, I honestly thought he'd checked out and that was all real until this thread influenced me to look back into it. It would have been one thing if it was for a hit movie, but it clearly wasn't. I can't even recall hearing much about him since those days until now.

I am not a huge Letterman fan, but that was a GREAT line..."Well, Joaquin...I'm sorry you couldn't be with us here today."

What the hell's up with the lip liner? Looks goofy.First poster:
Against my better judgement (and it's still way too early), it looks good. Origin stories tend to drag, so the movie's pacing will be important.Teaser trailer:

I was never real big on the guy either but compared to Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers he's a legend.I am not a huge Letterman fan, but that was a GREAT line...
