I like what I just saw him say about it on ESPN. He basically said: "I've never seen an NFL quarterback go out onto the field on Sunday in shorts and a t-shirt, so it didn't make a lot of sense to me to do that".

I have to admit that for awhile, I was a bit of a Manziel hater myself (still not a fan of the Johnny Football nickname) because of the off the field stuff, but always thought he was a blast to watch play.

Recently though, I've come around and really hope to see him succeed in the NFL. He's never going to be a "prototypical NFL quarterback" but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing.

After all, Russell Wilson and Drew Brees aren't prototypical NFL quarterbacks either. Doesn't seem to have hurt them much.
