best in the east with no worries now that they've relegated horford to the bench. such a shitty signing.I'll be watching Milwaukee like the rest of the world.
You think Philly wins a first round series atleast?

How many of the top 15 players do you think DON'T consider themselves the best player in the game?
He is for sure a top 15 player
List, please?Having top 15 talent, doesn't make him a top 15 player. His effort isn't nearly consistent enough for me.
List, please?
This.
it is a big part of the reason they are great players. Can’t be a superstar at the highest level unless you have an unreasonable amount of self confidence. Kind of comes with the territory.
Exactly. I think it would be more concerning if someone like Embiid or Davis or Lillard DIDN'T think they were the best player in the world.
And how seriously that statement is taken is determined by who the player is that's making that claim.
If it's a guy like Lillard for example, folks may not agree, but it would be taken more seriously because he goes out and tries to prove it every single night.
Embiid doesn't, so he's not taken seriously.
And the worst part is, if he did go out and try to prove it every night, he'd actually have a legit shot at it being true (or at least more people agreeing with him).
Stevens was a great college coach. Snyder was mediocre at best, probably and ended up being a better pro coach. I think he had one good Missouri team.Jazz and Celtics seem to be doing okay
There are several things about Embiid that frustrates and many other Sixer fan. And certainly his inconsistent effort levels is one of those issues.
But he's an absolutely dominant player when healthy.
I don't take any player seriously when they say something like "I'm the best player in the world". It's meaningless and just grist for the media mill.
I agree.
I honestly think it's impossible to truly pick a best player in the world. You can maybe pick a best player at each position, but not really a best player overall.
What's expected at each position is too different and that's without getting into what their individual team may need from them.
As far as Embiid being dominant when healthy, I never said he wasn't. I said my issue and why I don't consider him top 15 is because of his inconsistent effort.
And whether or not you take any player who makes that claim seriously, I'd bet there are players that you'd at least acknowledge that they might have an argument.
But I don't care if Donovan Mitchell says it. Players are incredibly arrogant. All of them. They are NBA players. They should be arrogant. If believing you are the best player in the world helps motivate, that's perfectly fine. If other players want scoff at that, that's fine as well.
That's silly. Your obvious point is he doesn't give enough effort for you to consider him a top 15 player. But it's doubtful you can think of 15 better players even with that opinion.Point, please?
Why does it matter?
I have him outside of the top 15 because he doesn't put forth a consistent enough effort. If I were to do a list, I'd probably have him at about 16-18.
But I'm not really interested in getting into some list discussion. If I were, I would made the effort in the first place.
So, like Embiid, I don't put forth a consistent enough effort to be top 15 either.
I agree somewhat with the Dwight Howard analogy actually.I mostly agree with this. However, when that players belief that he is the best in the world appears to prevent him from giving his best effort every night or from improving his game...it's a problem.
I'm not saying that's necessarily Embiid's issue, but it's a pretty easy correlation to make, imo.
Right now, Embiid reminds me a lot of Dwight Howard earlier in his career. He had the ability to be the most dominant player in the game, but thought he was already good enough and didn't see a reason to get better. It was like it came too easy to him or something. Considering Embiid's talent, maybe that's part of his issue?

So you got nothing. An easy list of 11 players you refuse to share. Move on with my life? LOLExcept that I already said that when I saw the statement, I was able to come up with 11 with out even trying.
So finding another 4 wouldn't be difficult.
Not sure what you're issue is. I don't consider him top 15.
I'm not making a list.
Get over it and move on with your life.
It's really not that difficult to come up with guys he thinks are better than Embiid. So you got nothing. An easy list of 11 players you refuse to share. Move on with my life? LOL
