Yeah I have to admit, I wasn’t sure you’d be able to call this one an “appreciation” thread. Good riddance.
I was slower than most to start piling on Flacco. Not even after the 0-4 start. But after the way he slept walked through that 30-6 drubbing by the Chiefs I was done. I didn’t watch the Colts game the next week because Flacco was still starting.

I had some hopes he would work out as a game manager - and someone who could throw the ball down field. The signing turned out awful - Joe didn't endear himself to the fans and Drew Locks progress was held up.

I think that had more to do with his thumb. Had he not gotten hurt in the preseason, Brandon Allen would never have started this year.

Good point @megalodon30 - I was thinking though the Broncos didn't need to put him on the 10 week IR for that injury and there were many reports that Lock was physically ready prior to being put out there.

He may have been physically ready, but I believe it was Fangio that said he wasn’t mentally ready. Who knows if the only reason why Lock had such a strong end to the season was because he was fully prepared and if we threw them out there in week 6 we might be looking at a different end result.

I was not happy with the Flacco trade, and it took me weeks to talk myself into it not being a horrible thing. Then the season started and while the losses were not totally on Flacco, he sure didn't do much to turn them into wins.
