How do fans know what color the team will be wearing on game day?

Why don't the Niners have an alternate jersey? I think our jerseys our really sick actually but it's weird we are one of a few that don't have a random alternate?

I would like to have an alternate black jersey like the Cards have. I think going to an all gold jersey would be too much.

They should bring back the 90's style Jerseys we wore during our Super Bowl run with Steve Young. White pants, Red Jerseys with the shadowed numbers I believe.

The home team gets to decide. Traditionally the home team will wear their color jerseys, but some teams like to designate their white jerseys as their primary color jersey (i.e. Dallas). Additionally, some of the warm weather climate teams will wear their whites on hotter days to force the opponent to wear their color shirts (i.e. Miami does this with September games I believe). Aside from a team posting something on their website, I am unsure if there is any surefire way to determine, aside from tradition.

Good post about this. I read the OP's post quick and didn't catch on that he was posting about Team colors. I've heard them announce them at the games but I have no clue where anyone would go to look for it prior to game time.
