Definitely get rid of two preseason games, but 18 games is too much. My concern is you will run into injury issues especially when playoffs come around. You would probably have a few garbage games at the end as the coaches rest starters for 2 or 3 games to avoid injuries to starters.
No changes. Keep 4 preseason games. Starters play 2 series in game one. Game 2 becomes the dress rehearsal instead of game 3 and gives guys an extra week to recover if dinged up. Game 3 and 4 used to fill out the depth chart and the roster/PS. Don't televise games 3 and 4 and no one will bitch about them. Early September can be too hot to play 60 minutes of football, why move it up to Mid August? Only reason is money and none of us get it, but we do pay more if they go to 18 games. After it trickles down, we are the ones that fund that extra $30M per year each of them is going to make and I for one think 16 games is perfect.
Keep it at 16. I need Romos records to stay in tact. Just kidding.
I actually like the preseason. I like watching the bubble guys play. Now the game the other night was pathetic and I’m sure the next one will be as well. It’s hard to talk about the NFL anymore without bringing up injuries or safety issues. I don’t get how 2 more games can help that aspect.
