Dak had one season with more than 57 attempts so that's even 4 attempts per game in 3 of his 4 seasons

Meh, I don't think it's a cheap shot at all. Mobility is part of the modern game but QBs can't take big hits and Jerry is right about that. But, as usual, Jerry gets asked a bad question at the wrong time and place and instead of just blowing it off, he gives a candid answer that will fuel the media and talk jocks.
As for comparing it to Wilson. Really unfair by Jerry and the writer of the piece, imo. It's apples and oranges. I would also argue that the smaller QBs like Wilson and Murray are less likely to take big hits running than the tall guys like Dak which makes Jerry's point valid.

Wasn’t even a hit that hurt him was it? I thought he just twisted it running

I'm not even sure any of this in in regard to Dak's actual injury but it will get spun that way because Jerry doesn't know when to shut up. Smart guy and he isn't wrong, per se, but he just invites problems at this point in time with this.

QBs get hurt in the pocket too.

Dak just has to know when to say when.
Yep. Cam didn't get hurt running the ball. He got hurt running for his life when the panthers OL couldn't protect.

I wish both the Cowboys and Prescott well moving forward. At this point this is an owner of a team without a QB for 2021 talking about a former starting QB who will be a FA in March. None of these articles or interviews mean anything.

I’m a huge fan of Dak, wouldn’t mind at all if he leaves the NFC East, and they spend the next decade swinging and missing on his replacement

I would say Cam got hurt for some other reasons too. He took some unnecessary risks at times but he also took a lot of cheap shots from defenders as well. The cumulative effects took their toll. Much like Andrew Luck in that regard.

Remember the days of Quincy Carter, Chad Hutchinson and Vinny Testaverde?

Smartest move the Cowboys could make at this point is drafting a QB.

I don't see that as a slam on Dak. Rather it concern for keeping him healthy. If a QB runs with the ball they really need to try and avoid the bone crushing hits by sliding well before contact, getting crushed in the pocket has its own risk of injury so avoiding those hits matter also.
