Jerry Jones open to sticking with Cooper Rush over Dak going forward if Rush keeps winning.

Dak is the weak link in Dallas. Jerrah better start his search for a new QB.

Should they have stayed with Rush? Should it be an open competition next year in camp?

Rush went 4-1, Dak went 9-5 and led the league in interceptions. Dak capped it all off with a horrific showing in the divisional round.
Man you're a dumbass Troll lol. The Eagles had better make the most of that game next weekend, because it's all about to fall apart for them. Hurts isn't a great QB, he is a QB on a rookie deal with one of the top OLines in the league, tons of weapons and a great D. Well guess what sport? All that shit is gonna start to dwindle quick when they have to pay Hurts in a year. When they cut loose of a star WR, a couple of OLinemen and some defenders because their QB will want $50 million per year. That's when he turns back into a pumpkin. The Eagles depend on bringing in FA's big-time. You better start hitting on draft picks, and I mean 5-6 per year(like the Cowboys) if you want to hang around this level once he gets paid, because you won't be bringing in any AJ Brown's in the future. You'll be cutting him(see Adams, Hill, Cooper etc)

Someone is projecting based on what happened with Dak and the Cowboys?

You Dallas fans talk about how Philly is going to be in "cap hell" every damn year. And here we are. Maybe if you had a competent owner you would also be able to compete year after year and build a deep roster? Just a thought.

The Eagles have AJ Brown and Devonta Smith under contract for years, and neither is getting cut anytime soon. Get used to watching them. You may even want to buy a jersey!

I mean, maybe if Dallas didn't wait for years to lock up Dak instead of getting him cheaper early, or spend its cap money on the washed, sloth-like Zeke Elliott, the team would be in better shape? Dallas still thinks it's 1995 and you pay running backs big money.

I’ve heard this so many times in the Howie Roseman tenure and yet they never seem to pay the piper. It’s almost as if there’s a way to manipulate the cap and Howie Roseman is very good at it.

What’s it like to root for a dead end football team for the last quarter century of habitual failure? Apparently, based on your posts, all it leaves a man with is the search for delighting in the misery of others.

Denial..Love it.
The Cowboys are dealing with it pretty well. They would have beaten the Eagles yesterday. The Niners will send their ass home next week.
Every team that pays their QB faces this, not just the Cowboys. Did the Packers want to cut Adams? Did the Chiefs want to cut Hill?

The Eagles aren't in a really bad cap situation and they won't be next year either. If they don't renegotiate with Hurts the cap figure will be cheap and if they do extend him they'll push back the extension cap burden for the 1st 2 years. The Cowboys haven't pushed the cap back as hard as some other teams so they have more room to manoeuvre. Should the cap suddenly contract the Cowboys wouldn't be in trouble but the Eagles would be. Just different business models.

Yes, I’m aware. It’s the only retort that you have. It means very little in the here and now. Since 2001, no NFC team has gone to as many NFC title games as the Eagles. Eagles fans were jealous of Cowboys fans in the 1990s. Those days are long gone and have been replaced by incompetence.

I think we have an early leader in "Who in the forum is most upset with this weekend's game results?" contest.

Eagles have the best QB in the conference and he's only 24 years old. Their offense is filled with young offensive talent that is already signed for years to come. Hilo and Adams wanted out, they weren't cap casualties. Cooper was but that's because the Cowboys don't know how to manage the cap. They just keep throwing huge contracts to linebackers that can't stay healthy.

Eagles will continue to make deep playoff runs while Cowboys will continue to not be able to make it pas the divisional round like they uabe for over 27 years now.

I know Cowboys fans are eager to begin the off-season conversation, but some of us are actually still rooting for Super Bowl contenders, so this debate will have to wait!

But here's a quick take:

While the Eagles do have a decision looming on re-signing Hurts, they will lock him up early, unlike Dallas which waited even as Dak's price tag just kept rising because they are a dumb organization. I think we know why now--they were not sure Dak was it--but either way they bungled it badly and wound up with the worst possible situation, Dak under contract for even more $$$

It will of course put some new strain on the cap to lock up a signal caller to a huge contract. But fortunately the Eagles have some aging players with big cap figures like Fletcher Cox who will be gone after this year, creating some room. Philly will almost certainly lock up Hurts this offseason, the earliest possible time to do so,

Also, since Philly is a team veterans actually want to play for now, they can get some decent veteran signings for depth, like they did with Ndamukong Suh and Linval Joseph this season. Unlike the Cowboys, Howie Roseman appears to understand the value of adding depth to a roster.

Cowboys: third rate organization run by an egomaniac.

Eagles: first rate organization with an owner who hires good people and gets out of their way

I wouldn't say you're delusional. I mean we all know that the Cowboys aren't going anywhere, However, it doesn't make you delusional to be a fan and have hope every year. Lots of people buy lottery tickets even though they know they aren't winning. They're just buying a little bit of hope. That's what it is like being a Cowboys fan.

What do you define as "hitting on draft picks"?

IMO it is extremely hard to hit on 5-6 draft picks in one year much less "per year (like the Cowboys)" implying several years consistently.

That's going to happen more and more as the Cowboys' glory days fade into distant memory.

Before not too long there won't be any active players in the league who were alive the last time the Cowboys made a NFC Championship Game.
