Pros:

Who the fuck cares, it is a god damn glorified scrimmage!!!!!!!!!
The scrimmages that were not glorified in the spring mean a billion times more because people that will actually play with each other actually played with each other!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One thing I would like to ask because apparently it happened in the glorified scrimmage today. I also saw this happen in the Kansas game last year. Since when do fans release balloons after a field goal? I never held a balloon and released it at a game but I was always under the impression that it was only supposed to happen after the first Husker TD. Has our offense disappointed us so much over the years that we just said screw it and let's just let them go after any points. What if the first points were a safety?

I agree to a certain extent..........

You can watch this practice to see what a guy like Brett Maher is going to do, and make some pretty good assumptions off of it. We are trying to replace the best special teams weapon in Husker football history...........and Maher punted the ball very well.

I don't think you can take much out of seeing the skill positions, but I do think you can take something out of special teams.

They've been releasing the balloons after the 'first score' for quit a few years now. Like you, the first time I saw it I was like "what the fuck, it was just a FG?".

Back in the day, they were only released after the first TD.

In the 90s it was always a TD that released the balloons..........but then again, I'm not sure if we ever started a game out in the 90s with a field goal

Seemed like it was always a 60 yard option for a TD on the 2nd play of the game.

You are right Jed it doesnt really show us what we have but it is a good pacifier for my football withdrawls.
