If they believe he will be fully healthy in 2017 I think it would be worth a shot he is a hell of a player when healthy

He was a freak of nature. But there are serious questions about whether he can fully recover.

agree most are predicting he will be fully recovered by 2017
When he first had surgery his camp was saying he had no nerve damage, but there were reports at the combine that there is.

Either way, he's going to be shelved for all if 2016 so people might not want to waste a1-3 Rd. Pick on a player that won't make an immediate impact.

true would be awesome to have him available this year but teams that are building for the long haul would make sense

A team that's looking into the future, and plans on having another high draft pick in the 2017 draft, takes Jaylon in the 2nd round. He was the best LB in the country.

I wish him the best in the NFL, however, my allegiance usually ends when they leave Notre Dame.

He's a gamble, you either get an outstanding LB with great NFL speed/quickness, or you get a guy who's never going to be the same. Some team out there, is going to take that risk. I mean, Manziel went in the 1st round.

Huge difference, my point is, everyone knew Manziel was a dumbass and he still went 1st round. Jaylon I could see going in the 2nd round, because as history shows us, teams gamble.

Wow I had forgotten that a cheap shot cost this poor kid millions. Me? I'd be very happy if he is our pick in the 3rd but I can't see him still being there.

I would definitely take him in the third. I would very much consider him in the second but would likely have to pass because there are a few names I expect to like at our slot in the second.

Ever have nerve damage? Took 20+ years for it to return and still isn't 100%.

In a Mock Draft on Hoop the Dolphins took Jaylon Smith in round 2 pick #43 which is a huge risk and reach I feel. I would take Smith in round 3 or 4 for the Redskins because we need ILB help badly next season a lot and feel he is worth a risk for a position of need for us.
