Actually since around 2001 this has been more the case than not. Usually Texas hardly has to recruit, they offer and a kid commits because they are from Texas. However, since Texas A&M went to the SEC they are starting to pull more of the top tier talent.

I was being sarcastic Texas has been falling off because top tier talent haven't been flocking to Austin. And tamu going to the SEC is the worse thing for Texas bc tamu is using all the SEC hype and manziel to steal and get top in state talent.

Plenty of Texas talent don't stay but I guess it also depends if recruit wants a certain school to give them the offer, ESP if they are a diamond in the rough
