I thought he was going to be better than Dalton, though. I thought we could have just released Dalton and let Campbell take us to playoff wins.

He had surgery on his shoulder. He's going to be on the PUP for quite some time, and my guess is, it could be most of the year. They'll cut Scott, and go with 2 QB's and keep McCarron on the PUP as long as they can.

There is some concern about backup quarterback Jason Campbell. He racked up his throwing arm after he got hit in the pocket and he'll get a series of tests Friday...

My Hobenese is a little rusty but I'd imagine that Campbell's arm injury falls into the severe category.

he was throwing into some clearly covered situations, I guess he didn't benefit from having AJ Green or other receivers with the capability to get open... that, and he could have thrown it away instead of throwing pick-6, but it is just the preseason so maybe he thought it was an acceptable risk.

Unfortunately, the Bengals are more interested in protecting Dalton's fragile psyche by giving him no competition than go after someone that could potentially help the team in case of injury and/or supplanting Dalton.
