Great effort combined with little resistance...

Benn would have been destroyed if that was a full-contact game.

Wouldn't have happened if Radek Martinek was on the ice.

A local Grocery store has been selling re-usable grocery bags with Jackets logos on them. I'm going to cut eye holes in mine.

Just make sure they aren't plastic... or are you taking it that far?

:heh:

Seriously though, the year is young. The Jackets have time to turn it around. The Wiz will help, but I still think the Jackets D leaves a lot to be desired for a contending club.

If things don't look up soon I fully expect Howson to be looking for work.

I think a regime change is in order. Out with Howson and Arniel. Bring in Pierre McGuire and Randy Cunneyworth to right the ship.

Ok, too extreme. Just hire Cunneyworth then.

Flames put Raitis Ivanans on waivers today obviously to make room for Derek Brassard...

In a division with St Lou, Nashville, Chicago and Detroit? Unlikely. To get 90 points, they have to win 66% from here out. Against that division.

Who woulda thunk that of my two teams, the Sens would have been the better team to watch?

Howson would be a great chief scout. But he just does boneheaded stuff when he has the whole set of keys. The cap / goalie issue, is just one example. The chess game with Hejda is looking to be a very bad move as well (Hejda for what they are paying Martinek and Johnson? Who wouldn't take that right now?). Let that be a lesson to NHL Owners. NEVER hire anyone from the Oilers organization. Ever.

Don't want Kris Russell anymore? That video above impact that at all? :D

It wasn't as bad as that video and the final score made it seem. They competed. I saw Vermette backcheck. And Dallas, Fuck Dallas, capitalized on every moment of boneheadedness (Seriously Nash, you're like 7 feet tall and 300 pounds. You had angle. HIT HIM!).

Oh, I still want Kris Russell and at least he hit Benn and forced him to the boards (I have a feeling he expected some help from his teammates on that play). The Flames need more skill up front though and I like Brassard's game.

Had Johansen had a good camp and proven his readiness, I would not have been at all surprised to see Brass and Sanford shipped for a backup goalie.

Alas, Ryan did not light it up in camp.

I didn't think the Jackets were a playoff team before the year and I still don't, but they're better than this. And they're surely better than the Sens. They'll be at least competitive.

As for Nash? I agree. I'd love to have him on my team but it rankles me to no end when people call him a complete player. Just because you're big, Canadian and get in the odd fight DOES NOT MAKE YOU A COMPLETE PLAYER!!

I agree. Everytime I've ever heard the term "unholy beast", it wasn't about a killer backcheck.

Maybe I should qualify it from now on with a "Forward skating" Unholy Beast.

I have never seen four players try that little. Props to Benn for taking what was there, but good god, the defense was playing middle school level right there.
