Wonder why they did it...do they think it's too late for him to get picked up by a team? Would still hate to see him go to GB and hurt us.

The team said that even if Jacobs were to be claimed by another team off waivers, he would not be eligible to play during the postseason and only once the Super Bowl was done -- so, that certainly came into the timing of the move.

Brandon Jacobs waived by San Francisco 49ers - ESPN

I think this has to qualify as one of the most peculiar "sign-bench-and-release" moves by our FO in a long, long time. This whole reality with Jacobs was just weird. Perhaps the twitter universe will now shed some light as to what this was all about.

Ask Braylon Edwards what happens when you get in Harbaugh's doghouse. It's like the Hotel California; you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave..."

His 'tude must have been really bad I guess. (Saw them on that tour at a "Day on the Green", Oakland Coliseum, 1977 - BooYaa!)

i'm just worried if this will affect us going forward with free agents. two years in a row we bring in someone and then they get canned.

Right now we are running a SB caliber perform to play organization - the FA's that have performed for our coaching staff have played and contributed - those that haven't were shipped out. If that affects some FA's decision to want to play for us - Great! Preemptive attrition is fine with me!

Always thought this was better than underthinking, unless underthinking causes something good to happen - but you can't expect underthinking to do good things so you should think more, but you don't want to overthink - but when you do, you don't know you are overthinking - probably to avoid underthinking so therefore you...

Or am I just over-thinking? ;)

I was there too; also at the 1975 DoG that the Eagles co-headlined with the Doobies.

What the heck has gotten into you? Was it SC's pathetic performance in the Sun Bowl?

Your thinking is fine and you express a legitimate concern - but I think in this case we have the leverage because of our standing in the league - now, when we stop being a SB caliber team then your point becomes more valid - at least imo.

I was trying to ironically over-think on over-thinking. Or overthink on underthinking. But yes, I'm in a weird mood and don't even mention the Sun Bowl.
