I thought Monroe was one of Jax best OL... guess not....

I'm guessing they are hoping for the same 2 game winning streak Cleveland got after dumping their talent........If Jax doesn't beat St. Louis they might go 0-16.

They have no QB's to protect lol.

When are these guys going to move to LA and get it over with?

I wonder if they'll deal Blackmon for the right price?

Luke Joeckel is expected to move to LT now and they may have thought Monroe would go elsewhere in FA after this season.

Wow, unbelievable. Bet Monroe re-signs with BALT, furthering the incredible run Ozzie has had as GM, always seemingly plugging holes with best case scenarios for years now. I thought Monroe was easily the best OL in JAC and probably, behind MJD, their best offensive player over the last few years.

This. This season is obviously a wash and he is as good as gone in FA anyways. Makes sense for both teams.

Ozzie strikes again. Multiple 3rd day picks for a LT. Bravo.

Like I've been saying: Baltimore will be fine.

Clyde made a good point about Blackmon: he's too much like Crabtree.

The Niners need a Justin Hunter or Mike Wallace kind of receiver IMO. I want a speedy guy who can run a go route every once in a while to keep the safeties worried.

Y'know I always liked but Pozz always LOVED & stuck by and now I'm wishing the Niners signed him? Jerome Simpson. He's killing it in Minnesotta with horrible QB play. GREAT signing by the Vikings IMO. Chalk one up for Pozz for always defending the guy.

Bryant McKinnie - T - Ravens

Bryant McKinnie's $1 million base salary is guaranteed for the season.

The Baltimore Sun doesn't expect the Ravens to cut McKinnie in the wake of the Eugene Monroe trade. He's already been paid a $2 million signing bonus and a $200,000 reporting bonus as part of the deal he signed in May. McKinnie will just fade into a backup role, where he figures to fall even further out of shape and party even harder. Sweet Pea will be thrilled.

Good Trae for both teams. Monroe has been some what a Bust. He is good but nothing great. Like someone said they might of lost him in FA so why not get something. Ravens needed Oline help.

Overall god trade by both teams.

Eugene Monroe - T - Ravens

A source tells the Florida Times Union that the Jags will get 2014 fourth- and fifth-round picks from the Ravens in exchange for Eugene Monroe.

It's another savvy move from Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome. Monroe will provide stability on Joe Flacco's blindside and allow them to use Bryant McKinnie as a swing tackle. Baltimore is expected to get supplemental picks in the fourth and fifth rounds anyway.
