That's a terrible pitch, but he shouldn't have been in to face that hitter. Is Wash ever going to learn how to use a bullpen? He was wild the moment he came in. You take him out when he beans a batter to put the go-ahead runner into scoring position. It's not brain surgery.

And I go back to the O's days with Belanger, Brooks, Boog, Blair, Palmer, and of course the ever lovable Earl at the helm.....damn good team for a decade plus.

I'll never forget the line drive homerun I saw from Parrish when Texas came to town in the 90s. It was so quick and so fast... no long loping home run. It was OUT, with the snap of your fingers. Texas lost that game, but I'd always had a soft spot for them (and an intense hatred for the Stewart-Canseco-McGwire A's) that it was really easy for me to root for them.

Still remember how big he was for you guys in the #5 spot a couple of years ago. He has been the bulk of our offense this year. He's having the kind of year that C Davis had for us last year. No matter how the rest of the season pans out for him, the O's (and everyone else) are likely going to make a huge push for him.

This is a freak explosion from the O's. They did it a couple of times this season (notably against the Jays). They just aren't anywhere near their potential. A big part of it is the bottom 3 hitters in our lineup actually making a dent.. of any kind.

And trust me.. I remember that 30-3 game vividly. That was the nadir to that season. Even now, when I think of it, I cringe. "How is this possible?! 30 runs?!?!"
