About time ... I am missing the NHL. The NBA is no replacement.

After 113 days of the lockout that included a marathon 16-hour negotiation session on Saturday, a tentative deal on a new 10-year collective bargaining agreement has been reached between the National Hockey League and NHL Players' Association.

"Don Fehr and I are here to tell you that we have reached an agreement on the framework of a new collective bargaining agreement, the details of which need to be put to paper," NHL commissioner Gary Bettman confirmed to reporters early Sunday morning.

"We have to dot a lot of I's and cross a lot of T's. There is still a lot of work to be done, but the basic framework has been agreed upon. We have to go through a ratification process and the Board of Governors has to approve it from the league side and, obviously, the players have to approve it as well. We are not in a position to give you information right now about schedule, when we are starting. It's early in the morning and we have been at this all day and all night, obviously. But, we will be back to you very shortly, hopefully, later today with more information in that regard."

I can't wait for all the NHL hooplians to wake up and read this news. :D

Hahaha! If that chick is lucky enough to have a significant other, which I doubt, he should have the razor sitting on her pillow when she wakes up:puke:

I'm boycotting the first week. If fans don't they will again take us for granted. It will be tough but it needs to be done

I'll probably got to a few games this year, but only becuase lil biz doesn't understand the giant NHL 2 way douchebaggery of the last few months.

Already turned in my season tickets.

Will watch on TV, but merch and ticket and concession $$ will be hard to get from me this year.

@Real_ESPNLeBrun Player contract term limit at 7 years (8 years for your own player).
-----------------------

small example, but one of 1000 I'm sure
so I hope the "smart" people have put in place measures against circumvention
like how long does he have to be "your" player?
Or can sign to a one year, renegotiate 1 month in and resign to an 8 year extension?

Hope so.
It's a shitty way to think about it, especially since everyone seems so happy right now, but not thinking about things like that is why we are where we are today.

I'm no where near as excited as I would have been in November.

Already have my money re-invested in lil Biz's soccer and skating, and will most likely continue to do so. No time for season tix anymore.

--------------------------------------------

I am what you can not really afford to lose in smaller, non-traditional markets, Mr. Bettman.

I was a loyal, 12 year season ticket holder who invested a lot of money into the organization on tickets, merchandise, parking and concessions.
You have not lost me completely, but you HAVE lost the majority of my funds that were previously ear-marked for the NHL. These funds have been invested elsewhere.
I am not alone.
We are many.

---------------------------------------------

Sorry Mr. Karmanos. Nothing personal. I hope the 'Canes do well and are able to survive and thrive in Raleigh. You'll just have to work harder for it.

I still say fuck'em all...i cancelled my CenterIce package about 2 weeks ago and i will not renew it. and i sure as hell am not going to any games. I've really enjoyed the college hockey I've been watching.

I'm sure will slink back at some point in my life, but it certainly won't be this year. :lm:

You should be able to get good cheap seats though.

Fuck center ice! You can stream 98 percent of the games for free.
