Just in general though...I hate that it's a penalty. If a guy obviously clears the puck to get a break, then yeah, delay of game...but when a guy just misses the glass? I think it's dumb. Just me though...

That's Coach's system... the Pens give up more odd man rushes than they create... their defenseman always step up in the play, and that can cause odd man rushes... our goalies need to be sharp...

haha, yeah, well I know that...just commenting that it's good there hasn't been any drop off with Gonch gone...which was a question prior to the season.

I would say this was the best game to watch this season for the Penguins. That was fun.

In regards to the Gonch thing, I have to say I agree with Steiggy/Errey (one of 'em said it recently), in his absence it's like our young offensive Dmen now feel like they're 'allowed' to shoot. On the PP and just in general on the point our young guys (Gogo and Tang) would ALWAYS pass to Gonch if the opportunity to shoot ever arose. ALWAYS. Now they're not hesitating to throw pucks on net, and viola, they're scoring. 5 goals between those two (I'm pretty sure...maybe 4?). That and Martin is just soooo smooth with the puck...his confidence seems to rub off on the others.

It could also be that their roles have changed. There's no go-to defenseman anymore in the offensive end. They've all been practicing in that capacity, and I think that has contributed largely to them developing quite a bit this year. And Letang's been incredible so far, in my opinion, in both ends.

It's helped too on the PP. Gonch was used way too much as a crutch sometimes.

I'm in no way a beer conneisseur (spelling?). I hate dark beer, yet I can't stomach the watered down piss water either. Yuengling is a perfect compromise.

Absolutely. This was the type of game I've come to love from the Pens, and it was missing last year, excluding "0.4".

3 of the top 4 scoring defenseman are Penguins... granted some games in hand for other players... but still... that's impressive.
