It's been like 5 or 6 years since the Wings beat the Islanders. In fact the two previous years the Islanders had outscored Detroit 8-0. This year the Isles went to the Joe & beat them in overtime.:D

Congrats, when's the banner raising ceremony? :D

The best part about Nabokov not having anywhere to play now is the fact that he wants his cake and eat it too. He would be playing with several contenders right now but decided to hold out for money, then when he realized the grass wasnt greener he comes running back with his tail between his legs looking for a minimum contract only to get stuck on a non playoff team. Now he's refusing to play for the Isles, at this point I just stamp head case on him and let him rot in the minors at best. What a scrub.

To recap: Snow called Nabokov yesterday. Nabokov hung up on him. Agent called Snow apologizing, said Nabkv was confused and would call back

Nabakov to ESPN.com on being claimed by #Isles: "I was like, Wow, What's the point?"

seems like nabakov is being a douche

Am I the only that doesn't care if Nabby is being like this? I'm not a professional athlete but I'd refused to play for a team that I though was self-destructive before. I didn't want to put myself into an unhealthy situation and held out, under controversy, for the team I wanted.

I haven't been following this whole thing very closely, but it seems to me like Nabokov can look in a mirror for most of his current problems. He must have known he'd have to clear waivers if his Europe stint didn't work out. Yes?

Nabokov had the entire off season to sign with a contender, hell the Flyers even traded for his rights, he just was asking for too much. Last I remember the Flyers were offering 2-3 mil a season but he wanted 5. Now he's trying to sign for league minimum...serves you right bitch!

Nabokov certainly has himself to blame as well, but what logic did the Islanders use when making this decision to claim him? I could have predicted he didn't want to play for them. So other than being difficult about this, they've accomplished nothing other than telling players the same thing they've told them for years: don't sign with the Islanders.

Now what I don't understand is why wouldn't Nabokov know the process and go public with a list of teams he would play with? Would anyone have faulted him really?

I thought the Islanders had no business signing him too, but now knowing their goalie problems I dont blame them for atleast trying.
