Bullshit.. WTF does the quality of the o-line have to do with the issue. The mid 90's offense was primarly a run offense, the offense NU operates today is primarly a run offense. There were and are pass plays out of each offense, but both are designed to be physical and establish the run first.

Frazier was a better running QB and Berringer was a better passing QB. Even though NU was running the option, Osborne had Berringer (potential pro material) as his #2..Not another built to run prototype...

I've noted you occasionally calling the NU offense the "Spread" and I've let it slide. It is not a Spread offense..It's a "Zone Read Option"

A Spread is primarily a gay ass 'Fun & Gun, Run for None'..It's days are dead in the Pelini era...

The thread is about style of QB's and their suitability in this style of offense.. Not quality of the offensive line.

Injecting the quality of the offensive line in the discussion does not change QB style or an offenses identity..

My focus is so far from the backup QBs right now.........like BRS said, whoever the coaches choose is fine with me.

I am hoping for a fast recovery for Martinez.......this kid does not look like a Freshman. That's all I have to say about that.

I just hope Martinez recovers, I think ISU is going to be up for this game as they are still in this race for the North. We need to be at our best, and can't overlook them.

I am not disagreeing with what the intent of this thread is but you can't look at the Missouri game as your final verdict. The game was over at halftime. The score might not have said so completely but physically and mentally it was over. Lee was not asked nor did he need to do anything but hand the ball off.

I for one am not looking at this one game as the reason why I posted this thread. The totality of what Taylor has brought to our game is what I look at when making this statement. However, the way teams have to prepare for Taylor and or key on certain "reads regarding our set", you will notice that it opens our offensive game plan 10 fold. I stated this after this game, because you could see how the game plan changed once Lee entered and he had a whole half to show his game or what the coaches feel comfortable with him doing!

Again; I am not bashing Lee, he is a good kid with heart and will contribute anyway the coaches’ want him to. Is he better then Green? IDK, possibly he has more maturity (less rattled) then Green when he is in there, but it is apparent to me between last year and this year, that Lee is a guy that has been asked to go out and (NOT LOSE THE GAME) for us, (which he has proven over and over). Up 24 to zip, was a great cushion for him to have and he did what was required of him to keep things in check.

This controversy of who is second best will most likely be a non-issue if the kids we are bringing in (Recruiting class) are as good as they are supposed to be. How great would that be, to have zero drop off when you replace your starter?

Anyway; Taylor has a lot to offer and a lot of growth left in him and the future looks bright for the Huskers in the years ahead!
