To all those who questioned or wondered which (QB) makes us a better team or a more difficult team to defend against?

You got to see how TM kept Missouri off balance even though the majority of work was done by Helu. The fact that Missouri had to focus so much attention on Martinez was obvious.

Then you look at the 2nd half (a full half of playing time) when Lee came in. They could key on the limited offensive sets we were comfortable running with Lee.

I am not bashing Lee here, just stating what is fact and hoping this eliminates the questions that have been flying around on our board in the past!

Also, as a redshirt freshman Martinez is only going to get better as he matures. Lee was qb by default in a transitioning offense who simply managed that side of the ball last year. I thank him for his contributions, but as has been said Martinez adds another dimension to the offense that opposing defenses must respect thus freeing up other parts of the game. Lee has at best 6 more games to suit up as a Husker and be available to manage the offense if needed, Martinez has potentially 48.

Yes. I think the crowd of "Lee isn't the starter because Pelini doesn't like him" can shut up now....

This why Zac Lee gets the nod @ #2 when Martinez goes out..

Nebraska's second to last drive was 11 plays for 37 yards in 6:06.

Their last drive was 14 plays for 54 yards in 8:40. ie.. 15 minutes of possession and basically ate up the entire fourth quarter.

Missouri had the ball all of 1:45 of the 4th Q

Lee came in and did a good job managing the game. Hand the ball to a running back that is in the groove and don't make any mistakes.

COMPLETELY agree that Martinez is the best QB for the job, and it isn't even close. After that 1st quarter lead, Watson started playcalling a little more conservative.......that's part of the reason why the 2nd quarter wasn't as explosive.

But what can you say about Lee.......he came in and made all the right reads. Threw a few really really bad passes.........but I was proud of him for manning up and taking off with the ball and picking up some crucial yards there in the 4th quarter. And not making any mistakes!

I only got frustrated with Lee one time and that was on the pass that Kyler Reed made an excellent catch on..

he had Legate wide open about 3 yards to the left of Reed and it would have been the best touchdown we've had all year :D

I think Lee reads very well out of the zone-read.........I will say that about him. But Martinez is a way better passer than Lee and there is no doubt in my mind about that

I am not disagreeing with what the intent of this thread is but you can't look at the Missouri game as your final verdict. The game was over at halftime. The score might not have said so completely but physically and mentally it was over. Lee was not asked nor did he need to do anything but hand the ball off.

i dont see how Green can stay at QB

he is talented and has a huge arm, but this O is not for him, he could be really good in a reed/mcneil role
of between a TE and WR, match up problem
but Martinez is the QB as long as he is here, and the guys coming in behind him are in the same mold
carnes turner
starling is more in the green mold, tall fast strider with big arm

I always LOL at the move Green to WR/TE comments.............

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THE KID CAN CATCH?????????

I mean- that's obviously not the #1 priority when it comes to Nebraska recievers- but it's pretty important........

tommie and brook played with a 10x better o line
and in a different offense

comparison with them is really pointless
