Is Scott Satterfield the early favorite for coach of the year?

I knew he'd be a good hire for whatever P5 team got him from App State, but I was expecting his first year at Louisville to have a 3 win ceiling, and he already has 4.

Louisville is 4-2 this season. They went 2-10 last season.

Louisville has 2 conference wins, including one against a ranked, then undefeated Wake Forest team. Louisville won 0 conference games last season.

This is pretty much all with Bobby Petrino's players too, he got a late jump in the recruiting cycle where Bobby Petrino had basically no commits for him to try and salvage, so he was only able to put together the 69th ranked recruiting class.

I think if they make a bowl game he ought to get it. To consider that they pull that off after the year they had he would be as deserving as anyone else.

The next 3 weeks will be very telling about what kind of team they are though. Clemson UVA and Miami is going to be tough for them.

Willie Fritz at Tulane beat Houston and went on the road and beat Army. Only loss is a two possession defeat to Auburn. If they win the AAC, to me that is the man who deserves it. Being from Louisiana and knowing what Tulane is as a program and where it is now is incredible.

If Frank Wilson gets another year at UTSA we could be talking about him soon on this list. He is hitting this area HARD and he is getting a ton of top notch talent. It may off for someone else down the line though if he can’t win more games.
