pointed out numerous times that it was a high risk throw. Even Cooley said he didn't read the defense correctly.

Cooley did NOT say that, he said the opposite. The middle was wide open and it was the correct call. He also said it is a throw that KC needs to make.

The actual read was a cover zero blitz, which KC identified correctly. He didn't execute the throw, and yes Pryor was mentioned as also open but with Scherff and Moses on skates he just threw it forward to Crowder instead, probably didn't even see Pryor

so if he read blitz why are you throwing off your back foot in the middle of the field?

Because the blitz didn't get picked up. Seriously dude.

FFS...we all said it was a bad play. It was the right decision and a piss poor throw. How many times do we have to say it?

so if the blitz didn't get picked up you eat the ball and take the 3 points. You don't force a throw. He did the same thing against Dallas last year.

Of course it was going to be a bad throw with all the factors involved. How many times do I have to say it?

The throw was still there. That throw is made all the time.

Would it have been a bad decision if he completed it?

Would you have complained if he didn't throw it?

Would you complain if Brady or Rodgers threw it?

Because as you even mentioned earlier in another thread, there was an unblocked defender blitzing. KC knew this was going to happen because he read it correctly pre-snap. And again, lots of QBs throw off the back foot under duress and are able to make completions (not that it's good technique)

I need your opinion on something. Throwing off your back foot into a blitz in the middle of the field is not a horrendous decision?

Just saw Bradford make this throw in the redzone, almost same exact play. He made the completion to Rudolph with two Saints coming after him

at that point in the game there is way too much risk.

The decision was made pre-snap, not while he was throwing. It was the correct decision, to throw to Crowder. His square stance back foot was the issue, yes but that is mechanics, not decision making.

Also, Cooley says it is a choice out route, so he should have targeted Pryor first, and second read Crowder, outside toward inside. But either one is a valid and completable throw. The middle is totally empty due to the zero blitz and a free runner.

so even with bad mechanics he still decided to throw the ball. How is that smart football? just eat it.

The alternative is a sack or throw out of bounds, either resulting in 4th down and a FG attempt. That was an executable play where KC just needs to throw it, easy pitch and catch. It went six yards over Crowder, no one was very close to him at all.

how is it a easy pitch and catch when there is a defender in his face and he is throwing off his back foot? A lot of Qb's take sacks b/c they don't want to turn the football over.
